Nestled between the Elysian Park hills and the hills of Echo Park, Silverlake, Downtown, Los Feliz, and pretty much just centrally located in LA, you’ll find Neighborhood Salon, established 2010: a boutique atelier art and salon space.

Ava Shire, a third-generation Echo Park native, strives to create a space that embodies vibrance and energy. Each individual stylist shine’s in their own way within the salon, supporting them while they help you create your own unique style. At Neighborhood, creativity and quality are never compromised, and you’ll always feel right at home.

We use low-toxicity organic color by O&M and run professional-grade Molekule air-filtration systems so you can breathe easy while you’re here.

We are honored to have two, seasoned, talented, and versatile stylists, and two junior stylists creating our exclusive team. We are proud to be 14 years young. Please inquire with any questions.

OWNER/MASTER STYLIST

Since I was 14 years old my friends would ask me to do their hair. I would come to school with stripes of green and blue, all over yellow, what we now call vivids, braids, purple, blonde. My dad’s friend was a stylist at Sally Hershberger at John Frieda’s and he would come over for dinner every Monday. We called it Teddy night. He saw talent in me and suggested I do hair since I also love anything creative. It’s now I been 21 years licensed. I’ve had Neighborhood for 13 years. Wow. I’ve trained under some of the best in all the techniques spanning 3 years before taking clients as a stylist; beginning my 2 year career doing hair. I am currently training Vanessa our licensed junior stylist. She is taking haircuts under my tutelage. Please inquire or schedule a haircut with us.

I was raised in a creative background on both sides of my family. I do think it helps me in doing hair. I specialize in wash and wear, but I do a lot of vivid color , fun color placement, and highlights, ALL OF IT!!! I can also do that updo. I try to fit your look to suite you and your lifestyle. How much time do you want to put into it, let’s consult, it’s most important in your appointment and hairstyle success. Yay!

Hi everyone! I’m Vanessa. I’ve been creating all things beautiful since 2019. I have loved hair since I can remember!

I love learning everything that this industry has to offer to make everyone look and feel their greatest. I appreciate it nowadays even more as I am a mother of two and let me just say, I also really look forward to my mommy makeovers! I am 2x certified in Tooth Gems. I am 3x certified in Brow Laminations. I currently specialize in those areas as I become a junior hair stylist, and I can’t wait to expand in more services for you all! Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Morgan, originally from the Bay Area. I love LA and it’s been my home for the past 8 years. I’ve been with neighborhood salon for 5 years and licensed for 10+. My passion for hair extends beyond salon work. I’ve been working in film and tv as well as salon for the last 4 years and member of IATSE. When it comes to salon work I love barbering and worked in a barbershop 3 years building my short hair technique and skill. I excel in clipper cuts, long, layered cuts, trendy cuts, keeping up with all current looks. Color is something I believe truly compliments an exceptional haircut. Bleach, vivids, natural balayage, painted colors, really all color I feel comfortable with. I’m in a band and play bass, a yoga enthusiast, clothing design/sew, and I hang out with my dog Gus…a lot. I can’t wait to create your entire look with you!

*CANCELLATION POLICY:

For Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time we will charge 50% of the service total. No show’s we will charge 100% of the service total.

Please contact us immediately so we can discuss your options if you're running behind. If you are over 10 minutes late, we may need to shorten or reschedule appointment to keep the next client’s service at their scheduled time.

Late appointments with no contact will be charged as a no show.

*When booking a color service online, if you are going lighter, please book Bleach/Highlift and not All Over Color so enough time is allotted. Please do not wash your hair for a few days, it will benefit your scalp during the service. If you have questions, or are going drastically lighter (i.e. black or dark brown to blonde or platinum), please call or email.

*For Special Event appointments please come in with clean and dry hair, unless otherwise directed by stylist.

*Perm's, bleach, corrective color, and updo’s of any kind, unless you have done them with your stylist before require pictures for appropriate booking.


*ALL PRICES ARE STARTING AT AND MAY VARY FROM STYLIST TO STYLIST. ADDITIONALLY ALL PRICES VARY DEPENDING ON EACH SPECIFIC REQUEST AND PERSONALIZED SERVICE.
